Guests stepped into the spotlight with RETRO, Faena Theater’s electrifying resident production where iconic music met dazzling performance and rhythm-fueled escape. From the soulful grooves of Motown to disco’s glittering heights, the unstoppable anthems of the 80s, and today’s hits, RETRO turned the decades into one nonstop celebration.
Set against the opulent backdrop of Faena Theater, the show blended powerhouse vocals, high-energy choreography, and a live band that had you on your feet. More than a show, RETRO was an immersive musical experience, bold, vibrant, and impossible to resist.

The charismatic and soulful Rocky Lanes, New York City’s own vocal powerhouse, led the charge as emcee of RETRO. With a magnetic presence and voice that channels the heart of every era, Rocky took audiences on a dynamic and electric journey, bringing the rhythm of the decades to life with passion and flair.
CARMEN
The Iconic Legend Reimagined
Indulge in the world of Carmen a reimagined tale of fervor and fiery passion, brought to life in Faena Theater’s new original production! In this realm of femme fatales, willful machismo, and blazing amour our free-spirited and headstrong heroine Carmen finds herself in a labyrinth of lust between two opposing lovers.
Embark on a provocative journey marked by devotion, jealousy, and betrayal as Faena Live, in collaboration with the performance art collective Quixotic, breathes new life into this timeless classic. Infusing the iconic tale with Faena’s signature style, the production blends the fierce passion of flamenco, cabaret, fire artistry, cirque nouveau, and percussive live music, all enriched with bold Spanish-inspired flavor.
A thrilling blend of striking visual illusions, contemporary Latin flair, and pulse-pounding rhythms of the soul, Carmen celebrates the esprit de vie while igniting the flames of deep desire.
MEET OUR “MASTER OF CEREMONIES”
Embodying the essence of Carmen, Esperanza known artistically as La Espe took center stage as our enchanting mistress of ceremonies. Born in Córdoba, Spain, she is a powerful, multifaceted artist whose voice blends Spanish tradition with bold, contemporary expression. A semifinalist on The Voice Spain and a Berklee College of Music graduate, La Espe brought soulful intensity and fearless creativity to every performance.
Joined her was Grammy-nominated Bita, whose vibrant fusion of jazz, soul, funk, Latin jazz, and flamenco added dynamic energy and spontaneity to the production. Together, these powerhouse performers ignited Faena’s Carmen with passion, artistry, and unforgettable flair.

Check your morals at the door of Le Hollandais restaurant as you play a part in an intoxicating revenge tragedy that will leave you questioning your deepest human desires.
This visually thrilling adaptation of Peter Greenaway’s critically-acclaimed 1989 film, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, is brought to life by Alan Faena in partnership with Unigram Theatrical. Transport into the macabre extravagance of the 1980’s with The Cook, who stirs up the drama in the tumultuous relationship of an ill-mannered mobster-turn-restaurant owner, the
Thief, and his Wife, who has a wandering eye.
The Cook serves up grandiose dishes from a menu created by James Beard award-winner Michelle Bernstein that is a nod to the lavish European cuisine of the time with a South Florida twist before it all takes a tragic turn.
This transportative experience blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, cast and audience, for a truly unique evening of mind-bending dining and entertainment.

SAMSARA CABARET A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION
Samsara Cabaret, an original Faena LIVE production in collaboration with Quixotic, played at Faena Theater Miami Beach from October 2018 to September 2019.
Inspired by the Sanskrit word "samsara" referencing rebirth, karmic reincarnation and life's constant change, Samsara Cabaret fused stunning visuals, contemporary dance, cirque nouveau, live music, state-of-the-art technology and more to create an exhilarating theater experience.
The experimental production boasted an ensemble of award-winning talent, including powerhouse singer and "America's Got Talent" semi-finalist Yoli Mayor, violinist Shane Borth, cellist Ben Munoz, and Sensatia stars Megan Stockman, EnVee and Samanta Mixan.
Narrated by a Goddess of Experience through a series of lively vignettes, Samsara Cabaret recounted Artemis’ transformation from a being made of stardust, transcending time and space on a quest to find her truest form. Throughout her journey, the lead protagonist – played by Miami native Bianca Allanic – encountered forces of lightness and darkness that lured her deeper into an erotic fantasyland brought to life through powerful duets, original rock-inspired compositions, aerialist choreography, acrobatics and more.
The incandescent performance, directed by Quixotic's Anthony Magliano and Christian Squires, presented a sensuous meditation on the eternal cycle of creation and transformation, during which guests were siren-called to leave their old selves behind in search for the ever-new.
